The Malatesta's Fortress is a defensive construction that dominates the whole town: from the tall bastions, with a complete circuit, it is possible to see the geography of the old town, the countryside and the near hills.

The rural changes of relationship between town and countryside are recorded in the Historical Agricultural Museum, inside the female bastion. During summer music and theatre (Theatre) shows are played in the courtyard of the Fortress. A curiosity is represented by the prison (for two centuries, from the half of XVIII century, the Fortress had this function). At the top floor of the male bastion are very interesting prisoner's graffito.
